19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Wood Window Guard

About the Item

19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Wood Window Guard can certainly be used for its original purpose, but also makes a visually stunning archway or treatment for an otherwise plain cased opening. Hand-carved with a floral basket and intricate scrollwork, it has been finished in a slate color with gold highlights and lots of wonderful patina. Although it appears to be finely crafted wrought iron, being wood it is much, much lighter in weight making it so easy to install by comparison, creating a lovely passageway or perhaps a valence over the window. Circa 1880s Measures 24H x 92W x 1.5D
