Antique Carved Eagle Form Architectural Decorative Element
About the Item
A large scale carved eagle with its wings closed as it reaches outward. Its feet are perched on a scrolled detail on a block form base. With fine stylized carved feathers and eyes and traces of the original paint with green and red on the base and red on the beak. Mounted on an iron stand and once used as an outdoor ornament.
Dimensions: 36" long x 12" deep x 31 1/2" high
Condition: Please review the detail photos. There are stable age cracks to the end of the tail and cracks and losses on the base as detailed in the photos. Cracked left wing. Old gouges on the eagle's back. The iron stand is with rust overall. The aforementioned is for accuracy as the Eagle retains an admirable presentation and remains an important piece of Folk Art.
