Antique Mackintosh Art Nouveau Style Stained Glass Window

About the Item

An antique Art Nouveau style stained glass window attributed to designer Charles Mackintosh. Reclaimed from a property in Manchester, this panel showcases a hand painted design of organic patterns with a stylised geometric flair, evoking serenity and meticulous attention to detail. The design is evocative of styling typical of the Art Nouveau period, stained with shades of orange, pink and vibrant gold. Elegantly etched, this stained glass would make a stunning feature window in period or contemporary properties alike. Additional Dimensions Dimensions include the frame. Charles Rennie Mackintosh (1868-1928) This Scottish artist was both an architect and designer who made his mark in the stained glass industry and put Scotland on the map as a place of creativity, art, and design. He was recognised for transforming the Glasgow School of Art, designing everything from the building to furniture and stained glass windows. Mackintosh was known for blending geometric and organic forms, which later inspired many artists and continues to today. Some of his more well known traditional designs include the Mackintosh Rose and the Four Squares. The defined edges and intricate arched lines to this panel are another recognisable Mackintosh design.
