- Antique Architectural Large Original Red Painted Heavily Paneled DoorsLocated in Round Top, TXThese massive, heavily paneled doors are even more impressive in person. The original red paint is chipped and distressed, adding to the authentic vintage nature of this pair of salvaged exterior doors. The aged paint may easily be stripped, taking the doors back to the raw wood which will also create a powerful impression with their sheer size and heft. This rare set of extremely large doors is part of a remarkable collection currently in our inventory; see other door listings for additional options while available. In the country side of 19th century Hungary, wealthy farmers had agricultural fields outside the villages but also had a large house in town. These houses often represented the wealth of the family. Their "house in town" would have a granary next to it as they needed to carry agricultural goods by large wagons from the countryside into the village. The doors and gates had to be very tall and wide to accommodate the large wagons, which is how this set of doors (just under 10' tall) was originally used. You will see the mail slot in the left door and vintage door handle...Category

- Antique Brown Painted Gate Doors, Grand ScaleLocated in Round Top, TXThese extremely large and imposing gate doors still have their original brown paint. The sheer size alone (9' wide) creates a strong and dramatic presence, accented with the unique original iron hinges, handle and locking system. We chose to leave the old vines that have entwined with it as it adds to their outdoor character. This huge, heavily paneled gate was used on a wealthy farmer's house in town as it was big enough for a hay wagon from the family farm out in the country to enter their house in the village. Old vintage doors...Category

- Pair of Massive Antique Salvaged Architectural Doors with ArchesLocated in Round Top, TXThis magnificent pair of huge wood doors originally served as a large gate in Southern Hungary, likely Szeged. Note the dramatic carved arched crown and Corinthian columns that accent the massive paneled and carved doors; with all these elements combined this pair absolutely commands attention. In 19th century Hungary, the original home owner of these doors had a farm out in the country and a house in the village. When they brought agricultural goods to town, this gate was wide enough for a hay wagon to enter while the door on the right (with handle) opened for individuals. Old vintage doors...Category
