1930s Architectural Silver and Black Foundry Form, Mold, Casting, Coffee Table
Located in Buffalo, NY
Industrial foundry form, factory casting, beautiful silver zinc and black original paint, wonderful patina, stepped Art Deco (Paul Frankl) design, would make an amazing coffee or cocktail table. See other listings for additional foundry molds.
Foundry molds and patterns are wooden tools, carved out or built up to create negative space, which in turn is used to make the inverse form or shape to be used for the casting of metal. To make a wooden mold, wood needs to be stacked up, like a relief, or cut-out, like a sunken relief, with handles or other pieces to grab and pick up the mold from the molding material. Individual pattern pieces that get packed into the molding material are carved and shaped. The space or forms that these pieces make in the molding material will be the inverse of the final cast piece.

Located in Dallas, TX
This one of a kind Mid-Century Modern screen was custom made in the 1960s for a commercial structure in East Texas. It was part of the architect's original design for the interior. It was mounted floor to ceiling in the entry space as a decorative element. It is in excellent original condition and would be an amazing in the right environment. The solid walnut bowties and the anodized gold frame are an absolutely stunning example of Classic Mid-Century Modernism.
