Cast Bronze Door Bells
About the Item
Cast Bronze Door Bell, styled after the Eames House, Case Study #8, Oaxacan Folk Art Door Bell. The Bell is lost wax cast from a clay Ox Cart Bell sourced from Oaxaca. It has 4 sound chambers, each with a bronze "clapper," hand wrapped in bronze wire. The bell mounts on a sculpted standoff with 4 bronze screws.
Each bell is signed and numbered. The current set is the second edition of 5, currently at #2/5.

LLand.
Known for the iconic Disco Chair (c.2020), LLand is the building based, art and design practice of artist and architect Rachel Shillander. The design studio work is focused on both architecture and the objectification of its construction systems into accessible scale functional maquettes. Using her experience as both an artist and architect, her design works explore concepts of architectural ethics, place, material, time, scale, and the human condition. The resulting works in architectural building materials are organic post-modern monoliths in stone, masonry, tile, mosaic, shell, and copper. Rachel was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, CA where she currently lives, works, and practices.
