Chinese Decorative Carved Wooden Architectural Pediment from a Temple
About the Item
A fine Chinese decorative carved wooden architectural pediment, most likely from a temple, its crest featuring a gilt carved center star flanked by pierce carved birds, flowers, scrollwork, and dragons. Large Chinese gilt symbols appear across the pediment on a white background surrounded by a geometric design border and additional floral and scrollwork decoration across the base, accented with a red painted edge. This pediment dates to the early 20th century and is in very good overall condition, with minor edge losses, slight fade and surface wear from exterior use. The piece has had wires added for wall decoration. Dimensions: Approximately 33.5 in H x 80 in W x 1.5 in D. Ref: 8
