A good quality and unusual early 19th century pine fireplace. The carved centre plaque depicting the Aesop's fable of "The Dog and Its Reflection." The frieze with swags and floral garlands with tied ribbons to side panels. Fluted and carved leaf detailing to jambs. Carved leaf and dart moulding to shelf. Scottish, from a mill house near Edinburgh. Shelf Width: 1380 mm 54 ⅜" Overall Height: 1430 mm 56 ¼" Opening Height: 1125 mm 44 ¼" Opening Width: 1100 mm 43 ¼" Depth Of Shelf: 160 mm 6 ¼" Overall Plinths: 1205 mm 47 ½"
