About The Maker

Matt Gagnon Studio

Matt Gagnon Studio

View Profile
Matt Gagnon founded his eponymous multi-faceted design studio in 2002 after a number of years working under famed architects Frank Gehry and Gaetano Pesce. Having worked on significant projects, Gagnon himself has become a master at intersecting materials, light and form to create designs that leave an indelible imprint on their environments. Trained as an architect and a dancer, Matt’s work stems from an obsession with how people move through and exist in space. Working out of his design studio and workshop in Los Angeles, Gagnon and his team are adept at conceptualizing designs that transcend scale and function to create objects and spaces that satisfy an unexpected emotional desire with utility. Clients range from individuals to large institutions and have included the Four Seasons Hotel, W Resorts, JPL/NASA, Ogilvy, Google, Beggars Group and the Los Angeles Fire Department among many others. Gagnon has shown with galleries around the world such as Twentieth, Future Perfect, Matter and Rossana Orland. The collection presented here on 1stdibs makes available some of the objects the studio has designed and produced for specific client’s over the last 15 years. All the work is made to order and is customizable.
