Group Of Three Massive Wood Temple Bells
About the Item
A very decorative and sculptural group of three carved wood Bells In Elliptical form likely Japanese or Indonesian. Reminiscent of the sculpture of Constantin Brancusi, the elemental forms project both power and serenity. Hand-carved teak wood with various enhancing signs of age and having a fine antique stained and lacquered wood patina. The smallest bell, with a black lacquered exterior with losses, has a woven rope hanger. The medium size bell with rag rope handle and stained/ lacquered exterior and the largest bell with rag rope handle. The large bell has a single stout wooden clapper and the two smaller bells each have three thin wood clappers.
