Louis XVI Style Marble Fireplace with Tapering Columns
About the Item
A good quality French Louis XVI style fireplace in white marble. The carved frieze with leaves bound by ribbons, the jambs with half rounded columns with delicate carving to flutes, the ingrounds with reeding wrapped in ribbons. The jambs are surmounted by large capitals featuring carved acanthus leaves. Shaped shelf above. A copy of a period piece.
