Painted Scripture of the Commandments on a Slate Church Wall Panel This is a charming if large and heavy piece, the panel is in solid slate, it is an original artisan piece dating from the 19th century The first 4 of the 10 commandments are painted in Medieval script with illuminated capital letters and decorated with vines This is a rare piece, it came from a country parish church and is in original condition, one corned has been strengthened possibly it is a repair but it is quite stable The panel is 61 inches high and 35 inches wide THT202
