About the Item
A transitional Louis XIV/XV French marble fireplace. The jambs carved with stiff acanthus leaves above footblock and foliage to scrolls. The arched frieze with scrolled brackets and centre plaque, both carved with drapery. Shaped shelf above. French, 18th century. An elegant dark red marble.
