The mantel is made from Sandstone from the “Massif de Vosges” called Grès Rose, pink sandstone.
One of its unique characters it that the color changes during the day and the way it is lit.
It’s unusual shape and nice paneling combined with the leaf decorations make this a modest yet strong decorative piece.
It is unrestored, it has some chips and imperfections but this only adds to its beautiful pantina.
This mantel can be supplied with returns or can be made to be flush fitted against a wall.

A set of four lengths of Georgian hand wrought iron railings with hoop style tops and circular hand formed end finials to each section.
They are made from wrought iron so they are extremely strong and much stronger than cast iron and wrought iron requires little maintenance and defends rust and corrosion very well unlike cast iron, so they could be left to give the original look that they are. The end upright flat bars are heavy gage and perfect for fixing to a wall or a post. There is a top, middle and bottom heavy gage horizontal flat bar which join to the end uprights and hold the round bar and everything in place.
To each corner end at the base there are small lugs which could be slotted into the floor and then the lower flat bar screwed...

Very exited to offer this unique little gem, perfect proportioned French Louis XVI fireplace mantel in beautiful Carrara white marble.
A very nice trick stepped and profiled topshelf sits above a slightly curved frieze with a finely carved central foliate paterae flanked by the split paneled frieze. The paterae endblocks are of the same acanthus form, and are supported by curved, angled and fluted jambs, which rest on rounded plain footblocks.
Left from corner of the topshelf shows some minor discoloration.
Very nice and small decorative piece, second pictures shows it size and potential.
