Set of Two Large Brutalist Bronze Doors Handle with Tree Bark Pattern, European
About the Item
A set of two large and impressive Brutalist bronze door handles with tree bark design. European, second half 20th century.
The two handles are of the same design - turned in the main image as they would be if fitted to double doors with the brackets beneath the centre edges. They are heavily textured, with lots of movement and depth in the design. The relief appears to have been cast from part of a tree - possibly silver birch bark, with its characteristic horizontal lines - and both have a very nice dark patina, best seen in the close-ups.
The items in this set have been left as found, unpolished, and show different tones from deep brown to green to rich gold, from their respective weathering and handling over time. There are minor signs of age, as one might expect, including scratches, traces of old paint and oxidation.
Installation:
The handle bracket is attached to the main plate by two fixings on the reverse, which we have not removed. The handle is fitted to the door using two long bolts (not supplied) as suit the thickness of your door and the weight of the metal.

- The depth from the face of the door to the front face of the handle is approximately 8cm.
