Late Nineteenth Century Large French Crystal and Bronze Staircase Finial
About the Item
This very large late nineteenth century staircase finial was found in the city of Blois in the Loire Valley, the castle region of France. The finial features a multifaceted crystal ball mounted on a bronze base. The base may be secured onto a staircase banister. Standing at seven and a half inches in height, this beautiful piece could be displayed as a decorative object or finial as it was originally intended. The bronze base measures 2.75 inches in diameter. c. 1890
