Spectacular Dolphin Door-Handle Sculpture, France, 1930s-1940s. A breathtaking and large-scale dolphin door-handle sculpture, crafted in hammered bronze, originating from France in the 1930s-1940s. This magnificent piece once adorned one of the grand glass doors of the Palais de la Méditerranée, the largest casino in the world when it opened in 1929 on the famous Promenade des Anglais in Nice, France. At the time, the Palais de la Méditerranée was hailed as the most spectacular casino in the world. The door handle is mounted as a sculptural element on a forged iron frame that elegantly follows the curves of the dolphin. Dimensions: Full height: 86 cm (34 in) Height of the dolphin alone: 65 cm (25.6 in) This extraordinary piece not only showcases exceptional craftsmanship but also serves as a historic symbol of the grandeur and luxury of the Art Deco period.
