Set of Two Long Push and Pull Door Handles, England

About the Item

A pair of bronze door handles, each with a long rectangular mounting plate. First half twentieth century, found in England. The handles are a very simple design, made from bronze (or other copper-based metal) with a heavy aged patina - brown, red and green tones - which we have left unpolished. There are signs of wear, as one might expect from age and use, including scratches, dings, marks, oxidation and changing tones from handling. Traces of old paint on the reverse. Approximate dimensions per piece: H: 40.5cm including rectangular brackets or 37cm excluding brackets W: 7cm including rectangular brackets or 6.3cm excluding brackets D: 6.5cm Weight: 1.3kg each Each handle is fixed in place through small holes in the corners of the back plate, using screws to suit the thickness and style of your door and the weight of the metal (fixings not supplied).
