18th century French Louis XIV period fireback with an allegory of peace and two pillars of Hercules. The pillars stand for strength and the unknown. They refer to the club of Hercules. The date of production, 1774, is also cast in the fireback. The fireback is made of cast iron and has a brown patina. It can be made black / pewter upon request at no extra costs. It is in a good condition, no cracks. Due to its weight this fireback will be shipped as standard door to door freight. Please contact us for a shipping quote to your destination.
