18th century French Louis XV fireback.
In Greek mythology, the "Scylla and Charybdis" myth recounts the challenges faced by sailors. Scylla, a fearsome six-headed sea monster, and Charybdis, a monstrous whirlpool, at opposite sides of a strait, posing an impossible choice for sailors caught in between.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black / pewter. The fireback is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
