19th century French Napoleon III fireback with the goddess Diana. Goddess of hunting, also protector of animals of the forest, especially the young animals. She experienced great pleasure in hunting, but took care that she did not kill more animals than could be eaten.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a black / pewter patina. The fireback is in a good condition and does not have cracks.
