19th century French Napoleon III fireback with two pillars of freedom. The pillars symbolize the value liberty, one of the three values of the French revolution. The date of production, 1837, is also cast in the fireback as well as the initials of the owners.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a black/pewter patina. The fireback is in a good condition and can be used in the fireplace or as a backsplash.
