About the Item

Copper and Brass Kettle, c.1930 A decorative copper kettle with brass handle mounts and finial, dating to around 1930. Of rounded form with a gently domed lid, the body is etched with a repeating floral design, giving texture and interest to the surface. The spout is well-shaped and of tapering form, and the hinged brass handle has a copper grip, allowing it to fold neatly to one side. The kettle measures 30 cm high to the top of the handle, 31 cm wide including the spout, and 21 cm deep. This piece was intended for both practical use and decorative appeal. The copper retains a warm, polished colour, with natural tarnish, spotting, and small surface marks consistent with age and handling. The base shows oxidation from fire heat. Structurally sound, with light denting to the body in places, adding to its character. A good decorative example of early 20th-century copperware in antique style, suitable for display in a kitchen, hearth or period interior.
