English brass helmet form coal hod, 1800's

About the Item

Generously proportioned brass bombe (helmet form) coal hod on a circular footed base. Hand hammered brass with cast brass tilter grip and pivot fittings for the bail handle. Dove tail construction is visible in a vertical line at the back. The rim is finished with a hand rolled edge. Birmingham, England, circa 19th century.
