About the Item

An English cast-iron fire grate in the manner of Robert Adam. The openwork fret with roundels set between decorative legs and urn finials with swag and rams head detail uppermost. Beaded edge throughout with a curved fire grill. Small crack to upper front under left-hand side small finial. This grate is suitable for a fireplace with a shallow fire opening. Height of burning area: 12" Restored. Circa 19th century
