About the Item

A fabulous 19th Century polished brass fire screen of exceptional quality and fully restored. The protective wire mesh of shaped rectangular form is set within a beautifully simple finely cast moulded and fluted polished brass frame, surmounted with an elegant carrying handle featuring exquisite scroll and foliate motif detail. The wire mesh itself is adorned to the central reserve with a gorgeous arrangement of foliate and ruffle motifs flanked with further arrangements of foliate to the each of the four corners, supported on graceful out-splaying trestle foot featuring richly scrolling foliate detail.
