About the Item
Reminder plate that says Seul contre Tous, or "all against one". It symbolizes the French battle against the European coalition at the end of the 17th century. The coalition tried to restrict the power of the French King Louis the 14th. William III, supported by British and Spanish troops, was an important opponent. French royal coat of arms with the three lilies (fleurs de lys) flanked by griffins and further surrounded by banners flags and weaponry.
The style of the fireback is Louis XIV Style and it is from the 20th Century.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a black / pewter color. It is in a good condition, and has no cracks.
