19th century French beechwood fireplace screen, once used to soften the heat from a roaring fire in the hearth of a grand Maison in France. It can serve a home today as a beautiful decorative shield in the off-season, providing stylish coverage for the unused fireplace. Needlepoint floral pattern with brass nailheads on one side, and worn silk floral on the reverse.
