Pair of Renaissance Style Firedogs, Late 19th Century

About the Item

Pair of two patina bronze, brown and gold, Renaissance style firedogs standing on two lion paws. Scotie shape firedogs’s body lower part adorned with a three ends banner and framed by scrolled acanthus leaves on the sides and an acanthus leave frieze on top. A sphere, common pattern on Renaissance style firedogs, stands on this structure and is decorated with flames and fleur-de-lys, topped by a torch. Work from the late 19th century.
