Peacock Fireplace Tools from the English Aesthetic Movement
About the Item
These tools are incidentally functional but absolutely beautiful. Adorned with beautiful bronze peacock repousse, turned fumed oak bodies, paw feet and claw thongs. These tools are a wonderful example of the themes and principles of the Aesthetic Movement. The peacock was transformed into the ultimate icon of the Aesthetic style with James McNeil Whistler's Peacock Room. These tools will bring a dash of historical decadence into whatever modern context they are placed.
