About the Item

This substantial handmade Arts and Crafts wrought iron fire basket is made in a simple medieval style. It is a blacksmith made piece, heavily hand constructed in ¾” x 1” rectangular bar drilled and rivetted together and hand finished at the front and back with a hammered and scrolled top bar. The base has extended bars designed to be lifted onto stone blocks or bricks one in each corner to raise the basket for cleaning. The basket is ideal for a large open fireplace or inglenook. It is in very good condition and at some point has been painted black which would burn off when used.
