About the Item

A beautiful 18th century English carved pine fire surround with a varnish finish dating from the late Georgian period. This ornate fire surround is exceptionally carved throughout, featuring bows and drapery to the frieze, lambs tongue detail to the shelf and egg and dart around the fireplace opening. The fine details of the carving have remained intact for more than 240 years and are an excellent example of period 18th century Georgian craftsmanship. A timeless surround for homes traditional and modern alike.
