18th Century French White Statuary Chimneypiece
About the Item
A pure statuary 18th century French Chimneypiece.
The Frieze consisting of a dramatic carved shell cartouche with bold acanthus foliage sweeping to either side with floral enrichment. The Jambs have elongated decorated consoles with an acanthus scroll below and a richly ornamental brackets above, the whole surmounted by a deeply moulded serpentine shelf.
