19th century Cast Iron Arched Fireplace Insert.
Recently Salvaged From A London Town House Dated circa 1862.
This Traditional cast iron Fireplace Insert Is Typical Of The Victorian Period.
This Was Used As A Main Source Of Heating The Front Living Quaters During The Period Of Installation. It Has A Relatively Simply Design Yet Has Classical Relief To off Set Its Simlicity, With Elegant Flowing Decorative Arch Motif And Balanced With A Strong Bold Bow Fronted Shaped Front Bars. It Has Its Bottom Grate And Brick Fireback Retained. This Would Team Up Well With A Marble Or Stone Fireplace Surround/ Mantle. It Could Event be Converted For Gas Use If Required.
