19th Century Cast Iron Burnished Mantlepiece Surround. An Unusally Detailed Polished Cast Iron Fireplace. Dated Circa 1880, British Made Antique Original Fireplace Surround. This Outstanding Burnished Fireplace Features Allegorical Depictions Of Greek Symbols In The Form Of Two Classically Dressed Artists. The Male Artist On The Left Seen Carving A Figured Sculpture, Whilst The Female Artist On The Right Is Shown Painting A Landscape Scene. The Neoclassical Style Of The Piece Is Emphasised By The Column-Shaped Plinths That Both Artists Stand Upon With Plentiful Foliage, Cornucopias Overflowing With Flowers And Fruit In The Foreground.
