About the Item

A tall 19th century polished steel fire grate in the Adam-style with a two-bar railed fire basket, over a delicately pierced fluted fret, framed with bead moulding. Elegant tall urn finials sit over tapered legs with a cast-iron square fireback. A well-proportioned and sturdy grate, possibly made by the Carron Company. Height of burning area: 34 cm Restored. Circa 1890
