A 19th Century Scottish Victorian Tiled Cast Iron Fireplace Insert.

About the Item

A Scottish 19th Century Victorian cast iron fireplace insert with hand painted original tiles. A cast iron outer frame with a raised decorative border, a central hooded canopy with high relief detail flanked by a pair of hand painted original tiles. The original fire bars with ash pan door below. Reg stamp to rear dates this to 1891. Fire opening: 345mm wide x 610mm high. Edinburgh Scotland 1891.
