This Fine Bolection Hand Carved Marble Example Made To Original Georgian Design,
This Was Recently Made For A Very Well Known 5 Star Hotel Entrance Near Buckingham Palace London.
The Clients Designers Requested This Fireplace To Be Made To A Smaller Size And
Hence Why We Have This Avilable For Sale At A competitive Price As It Was Surplus To The Original Requirement Specifications.
Made From Solid Block Of Spanish Nero Marquina Marble.
Hand Caved Using The Same Skills & Techniques As Per The Georgian Period With A Satin Wax Finish.
This Is A Period Designe But Will Equaly Look Good in A Contemporary Setting.

Quarried in the town of Marquina, in the Basque Country, this marble was quite popular during the 1800’s, often used as flooring and for fireplaces. The deep black stone has variegated white veining throughout, enhancing the beauty of the stone, which is magnified by the smoothly carved moldings. Most noticeably, the firebox opening has a luscious half-round border that is two inches thick. The feet are augmented by a six-inch thick protruding bolection and the lintel has several thin layers of molding.
