About the Item
Reminder plate that says Seul contre Tous, or "all against one". It symbolizes the French battle against the European coalition at the end of the 17th century. The coalition tried to restrict the power of the French King Louis the 14th. William III, supported by British and Spanish troops, was an important opponent. French royal coat of arms with the three lilies (fleurs de lys) flanked by griffins and further surrounded by banners flags and weaponry.
The style of the fireback is Louis XV and it is from that period, 18th century.
The fireback is made of cast iron and has a natural brown patina. Upon request it can be made black / pewter at no extra costs. It is in a good condition, and has no cracks.
