Antique French Sable Black Marble Mantel
About the Item
A stunning Louis XV-style mantel, crafted from Sable Black Marble (Noir de Sable) in France during the 1880s, exudes timeless elegance. Its molded pilaster legs, shaped in graceful cabriole form, are adorned with intricately carved shells and rolled motif moldings. On the lintel, a magnificent scallop shell takes center stage, accompanied by a delicate, dangling bell-flower motif. Adding both functionality and charm, the mantel features air vents discreetly integrated on either side of its legs, merging form and practicality seamlessly.
