Antique George III Irish Neoclassical Fireplace Mantel


A late George III, Irish neoclassical antique chimneypiece of Siena and statuary marbles. The breakfront moulded shelf above the frieze which is decorated with a central tablet carved with a lidded tazza urn with scrolling handles, echoed by further urns finely carved into the end blocks. The tapering statuary pilaster jambs on Siena grounds decorated with graduated inverted falling flower heads tied above by bows and surmounted by rectangular blocks carved with elegant wine ewers.
