Antique Georgian Style Carved Pine Mantlepiece
About the Item
A tall and robustly carved George II style pine chimneypiece in the manner of William Kent. The acanthus decorated frieze with female mask at centre is under an egg and dart cornice shelf. The side scrolled consoles carved with acanthus, acorns and oak leaves are attached to a wide aperture moulding decorated with egg, dart, flower, shell and dart motifs.
A lovely colour and in great condition.
Supplied with slate slips which can be replaced by coloured marble if preferred.
