Exceptional Early 19th Century French Bronze Fireplace Fender and Putti Andirons

This grand early 19th century fireplace fender in solid bronze was recently discovered in a Paris hotel particulier or private mansion that had been closed up for over fifty years. Two cherubs, one boy and one girl, with their quivers of arrows, are posed in front of Classic fluted columns that support flaming urns. Two torches flank the adjustable fender. This rare find from the grandeur of the Napoleonic period is ready to grace any elegant fireplace and would also make an impressive statement on top of a buffet or chest of drawers. Adjustable length 38 to 60 inches.
