A Finely Carved Late Georgian Pine Chimneypiece
About the Item
A twisted moulding runs along the simple but elegant shelf. The frieze with quatrefoil panels and foliage at centre is surmounted by an egg and dart motif. The opening is framed by fine lamb-tongue and beaded mouldings with a fluted border inbetween, the jambs are resting on plinths.
