George III Neoclassical Cast & Wrought Iron & Polished Steel Fire Basket, c.1770

About the Item

The bowed bottom ash grate bars in shaped steel, the semi-circular front with wrought iron horizontal guard bars. The steel apron of serpentine form, with circular paterae bordered by running pearl above a band of pierced flutes, upheld by four tapering fluted bulstrade columns surmounted by campana lidded ‘Adam’ finals.
