Impressive Brass & Steel Neo-Classical Firegrate

About the Item

A large and impressive brass and steel firebasket in the Georgian style. The gunmetal legs with engraving throughout, featuring Athenian leaf and drapery, surmounted by engraved urn finials. The pierced brass fret with foliage, dragons and urn to centre, with beading above and below. The shaped burning area with bowed front bars and wrought iron scroll work. Cast iron back behind. An unusual mix of brass and gunmetal. Measures: Width at Front: 1040 mm 41" Width at Back: 625 mm 24 ?" Height: 705 mm 27 ¾" Depth: 500 mm 19 ?".
