Large French Walnut Fire Mantel

About the Item

A large antique French walnut fire mantel dating to circa 1850. Its shaped frieze displaying handcarved foliage, highlighted by its deep back and dark finish; features that would bring allure and beauty to any period or modern property. This deep, large-scale fireplace has a simple yet elegant design with impressive proportions and a handsome patina. The front dates to the late 18th century, circa 1780, then was later adapted in the mid 19th century to become deeper. Opening height 90cm (35.43in) Opening width 180cm (70.87in) Base width (outer foot block to outer foot block): 219.5cm (86.42in)
