Large French Walnut Fire Mantel
About the Item
A large antique French walnut fire mantel dating to circa 1850. Its shaped frieze displaying handcarved foliage, highlighted by its deep back and dark finish; features that would bring allure and beauty to any period or modern property.
This deep, large-scale fireplace has a simple yet elegant design with impressive proportions and a handsome patina. The front dates to the late 18th century, circa 1780, then was later adapted in the mid 19th century to become deeper.
