Monumental French 17th Century Fireback
About the Item
A stunning and monumental 17th century fireback from the Loire Valley region of France. A luxury item that served not only to adorn the fireplace, but to protect the backwall of the fireplace and to radiate heat outwards. Decorated with a family crest or Blason and dated 1678. Firebacks also serve beautifully as kitchen back splashes and wall-mounted pieces for the interior or any garden.
