About the Item

A pair of antique dove grey and white statuary marble fireplaces from the late Georgian period. The long elegant acanthus carved corbels with recessed pilasters below, support a moulded and chamfered edge mantelpiece. The exquisitely carved centre tablet depicts a woven basket, filled with summer flowers and berries. Its rare for a high quality matching pair of antique fireplaces such as these, to come to market. These two were removed from Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin during the 1980s.
